Coming Soon

a year ago by sroussey

Like so many under construction pages that have littered the Internet in years past, I am putting up it's sibling -- the "Coming Soon" page. Really just a placeholder while I work out some things to get this blog software running and looking right. But after that, here are some topics I've drafted and will publish in the not-too-distant future:

  • Debugging Closures: the differences between, and nasty bugs in, the main JS engines from Mozilla, Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Opera. Firefox, sadly, rates the lowest here. Chrome's V8 is fast, but those optimizations have side effects in debugging. Apple, Microsoft, and Opera do it well, however.
  • Perils of With: the perils of the with statement in Javascript. Rehash of the old... and some new.
  • What is New in Firebug 1.6: well, Firebug 1.6 is just around the corner, so a quick update and some links on where to get all the juicy details. Maybe a reference to what we want to tackle in 1.7.
  • Framework Companion: If you have ever used Firebug or Web Inspector, you know how essential they are. What if they knew all about ExtJS, jQueryUI, YUI, Dojo, etc., and helped you inspect and debug intelligently? I should be releasing this around the time of Firebug 1.6.
  • Mobile Web Debugging: yes, how to do real debugging for mobile web sites/apps
  • What is new in ExtJS 4: a few demos of the good stuff once Sencha makes an official announcement.
